First two files in a planned series of closed spaces recordings. These are a part of the same session which gave you the best-selling and evergreen Fields Recordings from Krakow. The first one was made in the evening hours, in an almost empty Saints Peter and Paul Church. Only a very distant hum of traffic can be heard through the closed doors, and inside – footsteps of occasional (mostly foreign) visitors.
The second recording is from Church of St. Francis of Assisi. Unlike the first location this was quite a busy place, with lots of people coming in and out. At one point you can hear one of the monks opening some kind of chest with a large key. The door was open, so the constant but far away breath of the city is ever-present (as well as the draught which violently closes a window).
All sounds captured 13-14.07.2012 in the city of Kraków.
